On our way to the Big Apple to visit with
mia famiglia, we took a Jersey detour into Hoboken to visit the famed shop of Buddy Valastro, a.k.a. the Cake Boss. Seeing a line that stretched for blocks, we ate lunch first, then inquired about the line. A three-hour wait just wasn't worth it. We booked it to Greenwich Village and the center of the cupcake universe,
Magnolia Bakery.

Nah ... fuhgeddaboudit. Go straight to Veniero's Pasticceria in the East Village.
Veniero's? Now that sounds more like what we set out for. Next trip!
