We walked over to Kramer Books in Dupont Circle to check out the neon sign and get some cool pictures of it. There happened to be a guy standing in the window wearing a red down jacket. Perfectly complementary to the neon, right? I couldn't get a focused shot to look the way I wanted. Bokeh won this round!

summertime waves
Something about summer makes me want to go to the beach. Florida still courses through my veins, yet beaches nearby are hard to come by. Sand Beach at Acadia National Park was good for my soul, but the water was far too cold for my tropical blood.
Longtime followers may remember my out-of-focus shots from Monet's house and gardens last year. I decided on this trip to try a few. I think this one turned out the best.

deux bateauxs
On Friday, we took a bike tour out to Giverny in the Normandy region. Oscar Claude Monet called it home, and he painted many of his most famous works on its grounds. In homage to his painting style, I shot out-of-focus for the day. I have a mixed-media idea for the best of these photos. Here's just one of them.
