comforting my mother

It was a long day. I'm glad I was able to be there and that everything went as well as could be expected.

the florida version of an ivy-covered wall

I'm not sure if this is ivy or not. The shot was similar; I had to try it with the new lens. Good bokeh on this lens, yes?

welcome to tampa

It's been a few months since I've been to Florida. Laying on my stomach with a camera isn't what I used to do by the pool's edge. I forgot my board shorts anyhow.

reading a classic

I'm doing everything I can to avoid finishing my reread of A Tale of Two Cities. I'm a hundred pages in with little recollection of anything that's happened thus far. Playing with my new lens was much more exciting.

watching leaves die

Or so Kevin Nealon would tweet, "Ah, Autumn...there is nothing more beautiful than watching the slow death of leaves."

from the creekbed

Pretty, ain't it? You'd never know that this drainage creek is clogged with empty beer cans and malt liquor bottles. Well, except that I just told you.

Del verano en mi barrio nuevo. Una caminata de la manana con la luz perfecta. Te gusta?

gazing up at the roof

I've tried and tried to get a decent shot inside a Metro station. This is the latest in what may have been several dozen photos deleted previously.

nostalgic

Last summer, I sold my pickup truck. Every time I see an old one around town, I daydream about the day when I can get a new (old) pickup truck. I often drive past this one outside of Stalcup Farms in Vienna. It sets my mind a-wandering.

a rusty old bike

I'm sure this was purposely placed in this manner. I'm probably not the only person to snap a shot of it. I tried many different angles; few were great.
